AQUAPLATE® steel was developed by BlueScope Steel specifically for the water tank market. It has a food-grade polymer skin bonded to its inner surface which ensures your water tastes clean and fresh. An AQUAPLATE® tank is the only steel tank to comply with the tough Australian Standard on the use of polymer materials for food contact use.

Basically, that means AQUAPLATE® steel is deemed completely safe for the storage of drinking water for human consumption. It can even be used to store bore water.

AQUAPLATE® steel is strong, lightweight, corrosion-resistant and durable across a range of environments. It won't crack as a result of aging or sun exposure, and it's the ideal choice for bushfire-prone locations.

Harvest Rainwater Tanks do not paint their tanks. We only use genuine Colorbond BlueScope steel while other manufacturers and suppliers may just paint their rainwater tanks.
